How to Measure Yourself

Shoulder to Shoulder:

Measure the shoulders by stretching the measuring tape across the back, from the very end of the left shoulder to the end of the rght shoulder.

Bust:

Place the tape measure under your arms and around the fullest part of your bust with arms slightly raised.

Waist:

Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist (approximately 1" above the navel.)

Hips:

Stand with heels together and measure the fullest part of your hips.

Sleeve Length:

Measure from the tip of your shoulder down to the wrist bone.

Inseam:

Grab your favorite pair of jeans/pants. Measure the inseam of these pants starting at the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg (round to the nearest 1/2 inch.)

Measurements Matter Most!

Here's how to measure yourself to ensure the most perfect fit for your vintage garments.
Fit Notes: Vintage sizing may be different so please go by the measurements to ensure proper fit.
All measurements are taken while the garment is laid flat and relaxed so double for full measurements unless otherwise stated.
For best fit, compare the measurements to a garment you already own that fits you well.

Measuring your body:

BUST: Measure over the fullest part and straight across the back.
HIGH BUST: Across the top of the breast, directly under arms and around back.
BUST POINT: Measure from base of neck to bust point, then from bust point to center front waist. Record both measurements.
WAIST: Measure circumference-tie a string around body at thinnest part and use as reference point for taking other measurements.
HIGH HIP: Measure 2″ to 4″ (5cm-10cm) below waist over top of hip bones.
HIP: Measure at fullest part, usually 7″-9″ (18cm-23cm) below waist.
FRONT NECK TO WAIST: Measure from hollow between necklines to center waistline.
SHOULDER: Measure from base of neck to shoulder bone.
ARM LENGTH: Slightly bend arm, measure from shoulder bone to elbowed on to wrist bone. Record both measurements.
ARM: Measure circumference around fullest part of arm, usually 1″ (25mm) below armpit.
WRIST: Measure across wrist bone.
NECK: Measure fullest part of neck circumference.
BACK NECK TO WAIST: Measure from prominent neck bone down center back down to waist.
BACK WIDTH: Measure 4″-6″ (10cm-15cm) from prominent neck bone, mark then measure across from arm crease to arm crease.
SKIRT LENGTH: Measure from center back waist to desired point on leg.
HEART: Don’t forget to love the body you’re in.

Orders are shipped within 2-5 days via USPS. A notification email will be sent with the tracking information once the order has shipped. Vintage in the Present is not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit. If you have concerns you can request full insurance coverage for the full value and be reimbursed once the claim has been processed and monies paid to Vintage in the Present.

International packages are sent first class and Vintage in the Present is not responsible for tariffs, taxes or customs and duties fees incurred at the delivery destination. We do not ship to high fraud risk countries. Please contact us to see if we can ship to you.

Orders can be cancelled at our sole discretion. In those rare cases all charges will be reversed immediately.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, etc. through PayPal and Stripe, in US currency.

Return Policy

Store credits are given provided we have been advised within 24 hours of receipt and the garment has not been worn. Customers may submit a return inquiry by replying to their confirmation email to request the products they would like to return. The shipping on the return is paid by the customer. If you have questions or concerns please contact the store via vintageinthepresent@gmail.com prior to placing your order.

We do our best to accurately describe any flaws, but items may have some imperfections that are inherent to being authentic vintage. Merchandise is sold “as is” with no warranty and exchanges are not granted. Refunds may be issued if item holds damage not noted by store or any damage incurred during transit.

There are no exclusions for items which can be returned. All items will be inspected upon return for signs of wear or use prior to store credit being issued.

Store credit is issued in the form of a personalized coupon to be used within 6 months of its issue date. Store credit will be sent through email after the store has confirmed the reception of the return and the item(s) has/have undergone inspection.

By placing an order through this site and clicking the “I agree to the terms and conditions” box before confirming your order, you are automatically agreeing with all policies listed on this website and that agreement is legal and binding. If you do not agree, you cannot purchase from VIP.
